    May 24, 2012 by Ella

I am so excited to tell you about today’s Thrifty Thursday find, Kim Harrison’s “Hollows” urban fantasy novels! It’s an awesome book series and 5 of the audiobooks are 50% Off right now at Tantor Audio!

They are written by bestselling author Kim Harrison, and perfectly narrated by Marguerite Gavin.  A magical altered history of our world blossoms in the pages of her “Hollows” series. In the first book, Dead Witch Walking, we meet the leading lady, Rachel Morgan, a kick-ass-boot-loving private investigator witch. When she decides to move into a church with her business partners, Ivy the vampire and Jenks the pixie, lots of action and laughs follow.  To learn more about the “Hollow’s” and Rachel Morgan, follow this link to watch Rachel’s video or Click here to visit Kim Harrison’s web site.

  3. A Conversation with my Teenage Daughter…

    May 24, 2012 by Ella

Today, via text message, a partnership was born:

Ella (that’s me!): “Remember when I mentioned I wanted to someday

    write a blog with you?”

                  My Daughter: Yeah??”

Me: “I just bought one :)

                  Her: “Seriously”

Me: “You don’t have to be involved if you don’t want to… I decided to just do it!”

Me again: “The thing is, I want to do the projects and stuff we talked about, but I also want to write about real life stuff too. I don’t know how you feel about that. Maybe we should change people’s names just in case?”

                  Her: “Huh?”

Me: “We have a diverse blended family who face mental health issues everyday, there’s got to be people out there who would benefit from hearing about our life experiences.”

Her: “Of course I want to part of it!”

Me: “So now I need you to figure about what name you want to use and what you want to write about. I’ll figure out how to start setting up the blog up while you think about it”

Me again: “I was toying with the idea of calling you Stinkerbell because that’s what I used to call you when you were little”

                  Her: “IDK

Her again: “Ha Ha This will be fun”
